Recycling Awareness and Ideas Competition: Mini Grant

At the PYCE offices in Aden, on Thursday, March 29, members of the youth initiative called AYA held a workshop for youth interested in recycling and who had submitted ideas for recycling in Aden. Youth discussed challenges faced by the group in Khormaksar in implementing recycling in local educational institutes as well as elementary schools and how they were able to work with educational officials to look at other districts. They also discussed the best ideas for possible mini-grants in selected communities in Aden.

Youth Biking for a Greener Yemen قيادة الدراجات ليمن أكثر إخضراراً

مشروع تنشيط الشباب

ينفذ برنامج

قيادة الدراجات ليمن أكثر إخضراراً

لمدة خمسة أيام وتحديدا للفترة ما بين 11- 15 مارس 2012 دشن مشروع تنشيط الشباب بالتعاون مع وزارة الشباب والرياضة برنامج "قيادة الدراجات ليمن أكثر إخضرارا"ً حيث تضمن الربنامج الذي أستهدف قرابة 100 شاب من مختلف المديريات من أمانة العاصمة ومحافظة صنعاء مجموعه من ورش العمل شملت معلومات نظرية وعملية عن الدرجات الهوائية وأنواعها ، الفوائد الصحية للرياضة ، أهمية وكيفية إخراط الشباب الاخرين في المجتمع في هذه الرياضة ، كيفية صيانه الدرجات الهوائية وكذا التدرب على قيادة الدرجات الهوائية للمبتدئين.

بالإضافة إلى ذلك قام الشباب المشاركين في البرنامج بتخصيص يوم لتشجير حديقة السبعين كجزء من مسئوليتهم تجاه مجتمعهم حيث وفر المشروع كل ما يلزم وتم زراعة مائة شجرة وتم ختم هذا البرنامج بسباق درجات لعدد 15 متشارك من إجمالي الشباب المشاركين بالبرنامج وتحت إشراف إتحاد الدراجات التابع لوزارة الشباب والرياضة.

هذا ويتم الإعداد حاليا لحفل توزيع شهائد المشاركة للشباب المشاركين بالبرنامج وتكريم الفائزين بسباق الدرجات والذي سيقام يوم الخميس 29 مارس في مقر منظمة امديست وبحضور إدارة المشروع.

هذا وتم تنفيذ هذا البرنامج بالتعاون مع إحدى المبادرات الشباب المعنية بالبيئة والتي تحمل أسم (المنظمة التطوعيه لأجل البيئة (

جدير بالذكر بأن مشروع تنشيط الشباب (PYCE) هوأحد المشاريع الممولة من الوكالة الأمريكية للتنمية الدولية (USAID) لمدة عامين، والمدارة من قبل منظمة أمديست صنعاء. هذا المشروع يتضمن عدة أنشطة رياضية وترفيهية وثقافية تستهدف الشباب في صنعاء وعدن وثلاث محافظات اخرى.

In Aden 17 youth alumni of U.S. Government programming (8 males, 9 females) were invited to attend a week-long series of workshops centered around community assessment, youth positive engagement, environmental communities, presentation skills, and general civic engagement activities in Khormaksar district. At the conclusion of the workshops, three ideas were voted upon as possible PYCE mini-grants because the ideas involve engaging with local authorities as well as other youth in Khormaksar. They include: painting Abyan Beach Road public benches; planting trees at the Medical College of Aden University; and beautifying a Khormaksar Ministry of Health clinic.

In Sanaa, 9 youth alumni of U.S. Government programming (5 males, 4 females) were invited to attend a similar set of week-long workshops as in Aden. One mini-grant will be selected in the coming week.
